My girls (and boys) got Solar Electricity today!! we will now be able to keep their water from freezing and provide them with some day-extending light that will also take the chill off in this crazy artic blast we are having (-3* + windchill).

I notice every night when my girls go into the house to roost they all face the wall.......it is bizzare looking. So, why dont they face out into the house????

Said many times to friends asking chicken questions: "NO, you do not need a rooster to get eggs.....you only need a rooster if you want fertalized eggs."
I put their trough waterer on bricks...cuts down on the bedding in the water mess. But drinking from the nipples would be SOOOO much better!! I am thinking is I completely remove all other waterers they will HAVE to get it.....but dont want them to overheat....dang chickens!!!
My post is more of a what my chicken s HAVE NOT DONE!!! They have yet to figure out their chicken nipple water-er. I was so excited to get that done and in so they would have clean water at all times.....and they silly girls will not even look up to be curious about the thing!!!
Had just a little spaghetti sauce (meat) left over--not enough to save (about 2-3 tbsp) So I thought I would offer it to the girls see if they like their momma's Italian cooking :) They all bum rushed me and tasted then looked at me like.....WHAT IS THIS??????? That was it for the sauce-after...
