    The first hatch I did I marked the day collected 1-10 for the day collected. 1-3 only had 1 hatch. 4-10 had much higher hatch rate.

    On Sept.12, we gave our little banty cross 28 Jumbo and texas A&M eggs to set. today is day 16. when I checked this afternoon one of the eggs was pipped. not sure how this is going to go but we have an incubator and a brooder ready in case assistance is needed.

    Coturnix are raised for eggs the most. But you would need an incubator to get chicks. they won't set their own eggs.

    I would think they could get dust in their lungs from breathing the fine powder. We feed ground feed till 14 or so days. They drop alot of feed if fed crumbles too soon. We put a pn or sheet of news paper under the feeder to give them a second chance w at eating dropped crumbles.

    For us every hatch is different, but out of 56 raised I just culled 33 males, and there is at least 3 left to go. The hatch before that was 50-50 males and females.

    Some just get like that, they always die. nothing you can do either.
