My DH finally found a pic of a Rouen/Ancona mix and it sure was a funny looking duck! I'm still excited to see what my soon to be ducklings will look like.
Does anyone have mixed breed ducks? I have been searching the web for pics of Ancona/Rouen mixes but nothing comes up! We have eggs getting ready to hatch and there is a chance they will be Ancona/Rouen or just Rouens! I am just so curious as to what they could possibly look like. I hate that I...
Well I haven't been on here in quite awhile! Had to completely start over with our chickens, apparently we had something going on causing them to get sick and some started dying off. Sadly we had to do off with all the unhealthy ones and I found homes for the ones that were still healthy. We...
Well great news. I found a wonderful home for my babies (chickens and pig) and I got ahold of who I needed to so I could prove to my landlord what animals I could have! So I get to keep 10 of my birds, my cats and my goats. (Well legally I get to keep my goats, just gotta talk the landlord into...
There is a lease. It says 3 dogs but in the past 6 months we have been here, he has seen my cats and the goats. Said nothing to me about it all. When we signed the lease, we asked him if we could have chickens bc there was already a chicken coop and run built in the back yard. He said we sure...
This may not be the right place to put this but I am in a rush. I have a hampshire pig that I need to sell ($30), we paid $60 for him just a few weeks ago right after he was wiened from his mother. My landlord showed up with a paper telling me I had 3 days to get rid of my animals or I had to...
Thank you so much! I feel as though I am blessed, I get to have all these wonderful animals running through my yard! I love just sitting outside with them.
I hope they come back looking beautiful when it is time! I give all my animals as much love as I can. It can be challenging since Rj23 and I have 24 chickens/roosters, 4 guineas, 1 turkey, 1 goose, 9 ducks, 1 pig, 2 goats, 2 ferrets, 3 dogs and 4 cats. I have a bunch of people, who don't get the...
The guy told us she was an African but I didn't think that at all. We figured she was a Toulouse and named her Toulouse either way lol :D I am working with her to get her used to us and not so scared.
It finally let me add the picture! This is just a small section on her wings. But you can see the grooves from the cage in the quill and some on her feathers. I hate picking her up and feeling all the bumps and grooves.
Oh Toulouse does wonderful! She took to our Ancona Duckling right away and now they are best friends. None of my birds even pay attention to our goats and pig. I don't let the dogs out while my birds are free ranging just to be safe. But all my birds get along just perfect, it seems I got lucky...
I have 1 goose named Toulouse. She is actually a "rescue". The man who had her let her grow in a dang cage so she has cage marks embedded into her wings!!! I do have other birds, 10 ducks, 24 chickens/roosters and 4 guineas and I grew up with birds. So I have been around them pretty much all my...
Sorry for not replying sooner, but it has been go go go for me these past few days! My girl is 100% back to normal. She was always eating and going potty normal. She just cryed herself hoarse and that's all. I have read up on acv uses and will def get some! Thanks everyone :)
I don't think so. My husband and I keep their sleeping area clean as can be and they get fresh hay everyday, never hay that has gotten wet. She sounds a little better this morning. So maybe I was worrying for nothing? Better safe than sorry though, I do love my little babies!
As far as I know, I have never heard her cough. She eats mountain grass, grains and they really like to eat bark. Plus they nibble on leaves. I have 2 other goats that do everything she does, so maybe she is just hoarse! Other than her scratchy voice, she has been doing everything completely normal.
My female goat has started baa-ing like she has a sore throat. She was fine yesterday then today she started up the barely there hoarse sounding cries. Both she and my male (he has been banded) are very vocal goats. They are both around 4-5 months old. Should I be concerned? :(
