Its lock down day and i was just curious , ive had my eggs in cartons from day 1-18 and i was wondering if i could lay them on their sides to hatch now or should i leave them in cartons ?
Just looking for some advice.

They arnt special but i want them to hach , my nabour said she wasnt outside long as he could tell so do you think the eggs just cooled when she went out for a bit? I dont want to get rid of these eggs but if i have to i will

Last night my buff oprington hen (i think) went broody. she had already laid her egg for the day but yet she was back on the nest, she was puffed up and wouldnt let anyone near, she was sitting on 18 eggs, i have been letting them build up so maybe somone would sit on them...
its happeneing to my buff opringon girl , on her back the feathers are broken in half and the sking is red , i think it could be molting im not sure thats what im guessing about mine.

sounds fine , i was scared when some of my chicks had that but i just have a few piggys in the bunch , i wouldnt be worried just check him in the morning see if the size has gone down in the crop
i have a mix of bantams and standard chicks right now. All hatched same day , they are about 6 or 7 weeks old , in the standards i can see roosters clearly from the dominance and comb and wattle growth. But do bantams or silkies take longer to show ? any pics or tips would help
