    After finding two roosters in my new flock, and replacing them with a few more hens ;) we got our first egg from them this morning. Very exciting for a family new to having chickens!

    Thanks for all the Welcomes :) I'll be butchering the rooster tonight, and on the good side, my wife sent me out to get two more hens to replace him... I think I just experienced my first chicken math :)

    Farmergal, I haven't seen him try to mount them at all. Just crash into them and peck at them. At any rate, he'll be dinner soon. No roosters allowed in our city
