I was thinking it was mycoplasma. I have duramycin 10 and I will add it to my turkey's water. Should I give it to my whole flock? I have chickens, ducks and quail too. What about my chicks and poults? Thank you.
Can anyone tell me what is happening to my turkey? This brood breasted white is suppose to be thanksgiving dinner. If it has to get antibiotic that is fine and it will be a pet (or still eaten if that's ok). It's eye keeps blowing snot bubbles too.
HELP! I have a chick that has started to zip but I noticed it's beak has a crack in it and it is getting stuck on the shell. It started to zip yesterday morning. Should I help the chick?
They are on layer feed and I just started then back in on oyster shells (the store was out for 3 weeks) they get grit from the environment. We do give them crushed up egg shells but normally ignore them. I will keep an eye out. Thank you.
I went to close up the coop tonight and noticed this egg in their nest. My White leghorns are just starting to lay. One of them laid a little faery egg today. I think this might be one of their eggs too as they are the only ones that lay white eggs. Here is a picture. Any ideas on what is...
So one of my barred rocks is being weird. She was all buffed up in a little nest she made. But she isn't laying yet! She has been doing this for days trying out different spots. When I tried to get her up and to eat and drink she did both then plopped back in her spot. I had been thinking...
We have a large 12 X 12 coop. We have some bantams and silkies and some big birds. Has anyone ever build a little coop inside a coop with a small door for the bantams to have a place to get away from the big birds?
Yes the silkie was there daddy. We miss him dearly as he was gotten by a fox. He did give us some amazing chicks though. The pure white one is his too. No clue who the hen was though on the white one.
We had talked for a couple of year about getting chickens. Finally we decided to go for it. We started off with 2 hens and a rooster. A RIR, Barred Rock and our little silkie roo. Being smaller than his ladies never stopped him though! We added 2 Golden Comets and an EE. Also 3 black...
We have hatched a total of 9 chicks this spring. We had such a mix of hens that we have some funny looking chicks! Our Roo was a White Silkie too! And a couple RIR roos too! Sadly we lost our roo and most our hens (only 3 survived) to a fox and one hen to a skunk :( Now we have a bear...
I think I have a hen with Favus, now I have ringworm on my hand. Is it from my chickens? I have checked other pets but none of them have it. What can I do for my chickens? I am already being treated but I don't want it to spread to my other chickens.
I know that need that when they are first born. But they are older and have mostly feathers now with little down left and they spend all day in the shady part now.
I am wondering how warm it needs to be for 2.5 week old chicks. They have a heat lamp and they are inside the house. It is very warm today and I am wondering if I can turn off their heat lamp. It is around 75 F in the house and around 85 with the lamp on.
So my little black chick is a pullet. You can tell by the color I assume. It has the furry legs and 5 toes of our silkie and I believe mom is our Barred Rock. I wish I could tell the sex of the other ones too. Thank you for all your answers
