I have a chicken brooding/ quarantine enclosure that is insulated and has a side opening and top latches as well. Currently, I am not keeping chickens and would love to see someone get use out of it! I am located in zip code 07853 and can be front porch pick up. Rough dimensions are 4 feet high...

I am located in zip code 07853 and have 8 laying hens free to a good home.
I have one barred rock, one ameraucana, and two araucana which lay "easter eggs"
The other five are rhode island reds. All are excellent layers and are fed Purina Layena
I am re-locating soon and cannot take my hens...

Good morning, noticed one of my hens has an eye swollen shut, no crust, no discharge, no bubbles... no other symptoms and she seems to be fine otherwise. Just wondering what I should do to remedy her eye and ensure she is not singled out by the other hens
Thanks for your suggestions
I only had a chance to see her last night after it was dark and she was roosting...seemed just fine. she is eating the warm oatmeal I made her along with baby salad greens. i mixed up some electrolytes in a dish of water but she doesnt seem too interested. has pooped in the tub once when i first...
Thank you for the advice! I have her on/in a towel at the moment but she is still shaking and just seemed uneasy on her feet this morning almost dizzy...
Went to the coop this morning and my one RIR hen who is 2-3 year (not really sure) was acting funny. Has head down and is just backing away from everything with her breast near the ground. She is also molting right now and when I picked her up she is shaking. Saw her eat and I treated her with...
What a beautiful hen! I would seperate her for a bit and see if she starts growing feathers back.
If she keeps losing more, then I would say it's a molt
One thing I have heard is good to do while they are molting (or anytime) is to provide electrolytes in their water which you can get at any...
1.5 year old Grey Ameraucana with hard knot in crop.
Feels like a bolus about the size of a nickel of the grit I have available in their coop
She also is losing feathers, not sure if this is her first molt or being picked on

Trying to get her to eat something (salad greens...
After a month or so of back and forth, we lost the RIR this morning. The other 11 look to be in fine health, but I'm worried it could spread. I did notice one of my EE's hunched and squinty towards dusk this evening, but she was also roosting, so maybe I'm being paranoid. I've also been...
Gertie's been having issues for the past few weeks.
Hunched over, standing on one leg, vent area red and raw, lack of spunk/lethargic, and she seems to stay in the coop or one spot all day. Really watery/runny poo
I've tried corid thinking it was cocci based on her posture and symptoms... but...
RIR about 1.5 years old, was exhibiting Cocci symptoms of being puffed up, hunched over, and eyes squinting with pain as well as a poopy vent that looked really raw as she has been laying very very bloody eggs (on shells). So, I treated all 12 with Corid 1 tsp per gallon for 5 days and she...
Have a 1.5 year old RIR hen that has been laying very bloody egg (on shell only) recently. Well the one she laid on Monday was overly bloody and now she stays inside the coop still eats and drinks water but her vent is all bloody and the tissue around the vent looks broken and purple. I brought...
I know there is a similar post below this but my specific question is what can I do to minimize or release excess humidity in negative degree temps? What % humidity is considered dangerous? I have core drilled holes in the tops of the coop but still get condensation/frost on the door which is...
Hi everyone! You all have been so helpful in getting my girls back to health. I am treating with tylan 50 for another day or two...and i know to wait at least 14 days if not a month before consuming the eggs myself.
However, the eggs now and up until the 14 days are up, should those be fed back...
