I hatched out 3 ducks yesterday. The whole process didn't go so well but in the end ended up with 3 hatched. The first one hatched and was perfectly fine. I was losing them while they were hatching, they pipped and died so I helped the last 2 before they ended up dying. Problem was the second...
I had 100% hatch on my chickies that finished hatching yesterday. All 10 chicks were fine this morning and we were gone most of the day. We came back tonight and one chicks head was hung over and it wasn't standing up. It's legs were straight out if front of him. We picked it up and it opened...
They will be fine for up to 3 days in the incubator. But after 3 days you will want to make sure they get water as soon as you take them out. Then give them feed. They don't always hatch on hatch day, some are sooner some are up to a couple days later. All this from what I have read and learned...
Yes take them out on day 18 and shut the incubator and don't open the incubator or your humidity will jump all over. Leave them in until they are dry as they can stay in for 3 days while they wait for the others to hatch. I did open mine before all were hatched because it was getting to crowded.
So my first incubating experience was with an LG and I would say it was an ok hatch, could of been better. Out of 18 eggs that made it to lockdown I got 8 chicks.
My 2nd incubation was with the Brinsea, out of 14 chicken eggs 10 made it to lockdown. First 7 hatch with no problems all on their...
I just want to say I hope you are able to raise enough money to get your house. We had the same thing happen to us when we bought our house. We only had a week thou and so our mortgage officer and our realtor put the money down for us and we paid them back within the month. We were very lucky...
The humidity was actually low at first so I kept trying to get it up and I think my hygrometer might of been off so when I was trying to raise it it probably didn't need to be. So it was probably the humidity.
I had eggs that I just knew weren't going to hatch. There was 8 that I candled and didn't see any movement so I took them outside to gently open them to see if I could see anything. They were all fully formed, 1 looked small but it was formed, 1's beak was totally crossed way bad. Probably a...
MissPrissy when you say humidity issues does that mean too high or too low or just a mixture? All mine that hatched first were fluffy but the last 2 were stiff feathers, 1 was really bad and that was the last one.
LOL, I thought I had a weird guinea. I have 20 and 1 of them NEVER shuts up. She is always squawking. I didn't put them with my baby chicks til my guineas and chicks were 4-5 weeks old. They had seperate brooders but went into the coop at the same time. They all get along fine. Guineas seem to...
My first hatch. The reddish chick is from pidgey104 and the other 6 are from Harley's girl. The reddish is a RIR cross, the others, I don't know , lol. (Actually I know what they are but I can't tell them apart because i don't know who came from which egg). I have 1 that pipped today and died...
Leave the bator closed or your humidity will not be where it needs to be. I am on my first hatch and I had one hatch early yesterday morning and 1 egg was pipped for over 18 hours before it finally zipped and hatched. I haven't opened my bator since I put it on lockdown. I now have 6 hatched and...
I was looking for pipping yesterday all day which was only day 19. I didn't see anything. With all my temp problems I was wondering if it was a doomed hatch. I was getting ready this morning and kept hearing chirping so I went to the bator and could hear the chirping. I thought oh wow there is a...
