I am very lucky to live where I do-during the summer, we have an 180-degree southern view of the Olympics, Mt. Rainier, and the Cascades. Glad you enjoyed it. For fun, here's another one, this time a sunset, looking west. I shoot these from our deck.
I live in Stanwood, 40 miles north of Seattle, in the convergent zone. If you at all know the area, I live a stones' throw from Pilchuck Glass School, 900 ft up. Last night it was 8 degree's, tonite expected to be colder. Might not be a big deal, considering that you're in NH....
I hope that I'm not re-posting a new post, if that makes any sense.
I am looking for suggestions for cold-hardy chicks come Spring. I had Salmon Faverolles (sp?), but lost all of them (and my 6 yr old rooster) to bobcats in 2 separate attacks. Big blow, emotional. Now that the coop is...
I will be looking for cold hardy chicks this Spring-any idea's? I had Salmon Faverolle's, but we had 2 bobcat attacks and lost everybody (including my 6 yr old gentle rooster). Quite an emotional blow, but we now have 3 replacement hens and rooster, and I;d like to add to the flock.

Any idea's as to how to keep my girls water from freezing every night? This is probably one of the silliest questions I could introduce myself to y'all with, but I'm willing to risk it. Have tried a few things, smaller pans, etc. but am wondering if there's a more creative way to address this...
This may be just the stupidest post you'll read, but i have to ask: I'm at 1000 ft, and we're going thru a bit a cold snap here in the thriving metropolis of Stanwood WA. 16 degree's last night. Tonite maybe 10. Any idea's as to preventing my water feeder from freezing solid? I've been...
