My main concern was the time it took the rooster I gave away (his brother) is twice his size. Could the fact he was starved for food by others , and matured slowly??? [The one above the rooster (his father)
I have question One of my chooks has turned into a rooster. In January this year one of my chooks hatched some eggs . As they grew two off them showed quite fast that they were roosters . Two were hens,so we thought. Today they are 10 months old, and one of our chooks has started growing spurs...
To answer your question about what to do if they don't hatch If your children are young go and buy some day old chicks ..They can find out sad things in life later.
I had a failure my first time picked up some day old chicks. kids were happy top see them..
what they don't know can upset...

Dale here i'm in gympie qld . 2 Muscovy ducks 6 chooks 1 rooster a dog who looks after them . Also free range mob of roo's lizards snakes a large variety of birds, fish in the dam . Only downside not enough rain.

G'day drumstick diva I can speak to ausies anytime lol I also don't like halogen lights but I have had this light going for three days .It has not gone above 95 deg It's 42 watt but equal to old 60 watt incandescent. (not sold anymore ) it's made by Mirabella
my brooder 1200mm x 900 x 400 don't know what that is in the land of the stars & strips . Powered by 60 watt halogen bulb (no chance of fire ) keeps a constant 95 deg how did I go ?
