    Dark Cornish x Copper Marans

    I'm sure someone here has crossed dark cornish with a Marans. I'm thinking of giving it a try myself since I have a couple marans roosters and a couple cornish hens. I'm wondering how long I should expect for them to grow to a decent weight for meat. Any words of wisdom?

    Yes. The eggs are colder than the aor in the incubator initially and will take about 24 hours to warm up to 99.5. Your incubator will have to wprk off and on to warm them up slowly.

    I'm getting a much lower hatch rate (30% vs 80-100%) on my Mottled Java than my other varieties (mostly Marans and olive eggers). Is this common for Javas? They also tend to take an extra day to hatch. Anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking about trying a lower humidity. Any other...

    There have been several craigslist adds for rare breeds in Leander lately. I have Blue/Black and Splash Copper Marans eggs if you want to hatch yourself and a few in the incubator due to hatch over the next couple of weeks. I've been hoping to find Golden Cuckoo Marans myslelf.
