I'm sure someone here has crossed dark cornish with a Marans. I'm thinking of giving it a try myself since I have a couple marans roosters and a couple cornish hens. I'm wondering how long I should expect for them to grow to a decent weight for meat. Any words of wisdom?
Yes. The eggs are colder than the aor in the incubator initially and will take about 24 hours to warm up to 99.5. Your incubator will have to wprk off and on to warm them up slowly.
I'm getting a much lower hatch rate (30% vs 80-100%) on my Mottled Java than my other varieties (mostly Marans and olive eggers). Is this common for Javas? They also tend to take an extra day to hatch. Anyone else had this problem? I'm thinking about trying a lower humidity. Any other...

I am looking for a hatcher. I have a Brinsea Octagon 20 for incubating, but I would really like to be able to put a few in at a time and move the eggs to a hatcher for lockdown. Has anyone tried the Rite Farm 3600. I'm thinking either that or another Brinsea Octagon. I definitely don't want...

They fit my criteria perfect. They are pretty and lay white eggs. I'm just wondering if they are called something else or maybe they are a project variety.
I was looking for a white egg layer that did not have white feathers and came across a local lady who said she had blue Japanese Cresteds that lay white eggs. The chickens she has look similar to a Crested Cream Legbar to my untrained eye, with a bit more of a crest and are various shades of...
