    Utah!

FREE - I have 2 Purebred English Chocolate Orpington Roos that I need to rehome ASAP. FREE to good homes! They are large bantams, so about 5 lb birds. One is 7 months, the other is 8 months old. Gorgeous birds, but because I have too few hens the roosters are starting to fight, and the ladies...

My Chicken Has Blue Eyes - Does Yours?

My purebred Chocolate Orpington chickens produced 2 chicks (out of 14) that have blue eyes and have speckled feathers. Never seen this before... Here are some pics I took the other other day. They eyes look more green against my green couch but they really are very blue.

    Chocolate Orpingtons

Thank you for posting a pic, that is helpful. Here is a recent pic of my 3 Choc. Orpingtons at around 20 weeks. You can see that the middle one still hasn't feathered up quite right. Also, he can't fly because his feathers came in crooked. And here is a close up of just him:

8 week old Chocolate Orpington Chicks - PICS and questions...

That's what I'm going to do. He's still working on getting all of his feathers in, but he deserves to have a life too. I just couldn't justify killing him when he's perfectly healthy (other than the very slow feathering up issue) and happy. It would haunt me forever if I did kill him. haha So...

    Chocolate Orpingtons

They're still growing, but the one cockerel is still WAY behind in feathering up. However, he seems to be the one who is lightest in color. The other 2 (cockerel and pullet) who have feathered nicely still look very, very dark in color, not really black, but also not brown. I have hopes that...

    Chocolate Orpingtons

SO pretty! Is he a LF or a large bantam (4-5 lb)? Do you have any pics of when he was about 8 weeks old?

    Chocolate Orpingtons

Hi! I recently got 3 chocolate orpington chicks (2 cockerels, 1 pullet, 8 weeks old) and I have 2 questions: 1. Two of the three birds have feathered up (one male, one female) and their feathers are a very dark (almost black) color, will they lighten up in color as they get a little older...

    Broody Hen Thread!

I have a question; Does anyone know how many days, after a hen starts to set, is it ok to put freshly laid fertile eggs under her? What would happen if some chicks were to hatch while others are a couple of days behind? I have a broody hen who has been setting for 3 or 4 days on just a few eggs.

    Utah!

I called him this morning and he does have Buff Orps but I think I'm going to be strong and hold out for some Chocolate, and Black Orp hatching eggs...if I can, LOL! I'm trying to focus mainly on getting started breeding Choc. Orps, PLUS I breed Ragdoll cats, and I have 3 young children, and a...

    Utah!

That's awesome, I just might take you up on that offer if I end up having to order eggs in or something. I'm not quite ready to get an incubator, especially because I've only hatched eggs out using an incubator one time before, and that was when I was 12... so 15 years ago.

    Utah!

That's so SO nice of you!! The only problem is I don't have an incubator yet (as I am a fairly new chicken addict, lol), and I don't think my hen will stay broody until May. :( But thank you so much anyway! -Jenna
