    Rooster or hen?

I have a very "unique" question. I'm raising 6 buff orpingtons. I'm a first timer and my biggest chicken "big red" has started to crow. All my birds are 13 weeks old, however big red seems to be growing and developing more rapidly than the rest. "She" has a bright red comb and a beautiful...

Should I be worries by this?

My biggest buff Orpington pullet "big red" has something going on with her toes. She is not favoring the foot and it does not seem to be hindering her. Could it be a birth defect of some kind. She is carrying on nicely and doesn't seem to be in pain. Should I be worried?

    Brooder lamp question

Thanks very much I appreciate it. Our coop and run are almost finished. We built a fence for our run out of used pallets that were free and attached to a tool shed. It's not the prettiest but it will be effective. FYI it's cheap and easy if you decide to go that route. :)

Today while we were at work, one of our ladies knocked over the water jug now our girls are wet. They are almost completely dry now, I'm sure from just resting under the heat lamp...
