Ya' gotta understand.. We had snow for Easter. I'm certainly not complaining.. I'm just saying, that while other folks brag about "My ducks are outside at 2 weeks old.." In my area (we have our own weather here in Andover NH) we have to take things just a little bit slower sometimes. My babies...

Well, I wouldn't say that nothing would match. Ya' never know.
The site is: The Indian Runner Duck Association
To be fair, I've found researching any topic, hobby or whatever on line can prove to have many conflicting opinions / advice.
Your babies are beautiful BTW! Too bad I...

That is so awesome! But you'd also need a Spinderella.
OMG! Remember the lyric..."Spinderella's not a fella,...but a girl DJ"...?
LOL!
Wow.. Takes me back to my ol' neighborhood.
Most birds have sensitive respiratory systems.. If I was going to use a wood shaving, I'd go with the Aspen as well. Avoid cedar and pine, unless the pine is kiln dried. The oils in them do more harm than good.
Cedar smells nice, but the dangers out weigh that one benefit IMO. I wouldn't use it...
When I re-sized the pictures I said the same exact thing (Re: their space). It's really not as tight as it looks...but it was the best angle I could get the pics from.
They won't be in there much longer though.. That's for sure! At 9 days old they're double the size of last week!
I'm gonna have...
I promised pics of the indoor/outdoor astro-turf I use for my ducklings.
It's made keeping them clean and dryer (hence warmer), much easier. The 55gal tank they're in has an unnoticeable pitch to it. I put 2 coasters under the edge where their heat lamps are. This way any bit of water will be...

As a warning..If you use the 'turf and have to cut it at all, you'll also need to duct tape around the edges. The "grass" comes loose and so do some threads. The ducks think nothing of trying to eat it if you don't tape it.
I'll try to post a pic of it tomorrow to show what I mean...
This week they're in a 55 gal. fish tank with the same ceramic Zoo-Med heaters placed over a screen on one end. I take out the "astro turf", hose it down and let it dry over the shower rod in the bathroom.
I pre-cut a couple of "sheets" of it, to fit so while one's drying there's another to put...
I read on a UK site dedicated specifically to Runners that they shouldn't get the typical 20% starter / grower, but more like 15%. Just as other ducks will develop angel wing from too much protein, Runners can develop rough feathers.
It also says to give them wheat..., that they shouldn't be...
West Central'ish NH... VIA NYC....and absolutely loving it.. Andover to be more precise.
After more than a decade of visiting NH for Bike Week, I became a permanent resident here last May.
Hey there!
Whereabouts in NH?
I'm in Andover and just got my (1st ever) 4 ducklings from Agway in Tilton, a week ago today.
Best of luck to the ducklings and you!

Aww..You're welcome.
I've always been a sucker for an animal.
He came to me by way of a small child crying "I heard if anyone could help, you could." And..well.. He'll be three in September.
I'm actually (happily) moved up to NH now (May will be a year.) But all of my "kids and...
