I have to say that my five hens ( 3 Silver Laced and 2 Golden laced ) are really sweet birds. I got them from a hatchery 3 months ago. I am disappointed in their coloring, they are beautiful but I don't think they have the most uniform coloring like are suppose to. They do get a little excited...
We are just finishing up on our 1st chicken tractor. It is so heavy that we have to use our Ford truck to push it. The top measurements are 8' x 6' x 4'. The bottom is 12' x 6' x 2'. The roof has shingles. It took alot of hard work and money but we are happy with it. We have 8 hens ( 2 Red...
Has anybody ordered from healthy chicks and more? Their website states that they will ship a small quanity of 10 chicks and you can mix and match. I called and left a message with the company. Their day old pullets state $5.00 each. Pricey, but shipping is only $5.00.
Thanks NYREDS for all your help. I have been searching the web and looking at all of these different types of chickens...Since I am so new at this it can be a bit confusing. But, I do think you are right! Thanks again.
I just checked out your link...boy your right, they do look alot like Black wyandottes ( they have no combs (at 9 weeks) and are of the same color).
I will be patient and wait a little longer...
Have a great evening!
I am new to all of this and I have become obsessed with my 8 little chickens and this message board ! It really doesn't matter what breed they are I will still keep them. Since this is my first batch I have so many questions.
Of course the sales people at TSC really can't answer any questions...
I got them from TSC. If I remember correctly their feet are pinkish (light color) on the bottoms? They are sleeping right now in the coop so I don't want to bother them . They really don't like to be picked up, they are not as nice as my red stars.
They look just like everybody elses BAs but...
The board said that I do have black austhrorps, but I was wondering...most of the pics that I see of BAs they have small combs. Mine do not have any..you can barely see a formation of an upside down "V"...are they true black austhrorps? They are 5 1/2 weeks old. I have three of them and one has...
The brownish-Gold/White birds look just like mine..Red sexlink pullets (also called red stars ). They say the roos are all white. The 4th one..i don't know..hope this helps.
I also have the red sexlinked breed. I got them from TSC. I did some research on them and it stated that the brownish-golden/white ones are pullets and the all white ones are roos. I have three pullets...they are so sweet.
