My wife and I would never turn away any animals. She doesn't really like cats but even took a few in and nursed them back to health after a fight with something. we wound up keeping them for another 10 years. -

I hate people who just drop animals. when we lived in TN it seemed like we would find new dogs or cats weekly. Luckily some of our neighbors had small farms and took them in. The geese are following the local ducks everywhere they go. Maybe things will work out. Still keeping an eye on them... -
