Someone dropped these off

they are edging the yard  right now.

Yup, that's geese on the job. They are great at lawn care, keep the grass short and fertilize it as they go. Plus Chinese are great "watch dogs" they will call out for anything in their territory that shouldn't be there. Chinese geese get very territorial though. I have a gentleman staying with me who lost his house in a fire. Every time he goes outside I have to go with him as the geese will attack him. The geese are affectionate to us, but little devils to strangers. Makes having company over interesting, lol.

Gotta love the disposable animal mindset of some people -- so glad that these little guys were lucky enough to be dumped near someone who was a better human being than the person doing the dumping.

My wife and I would never turn away any animals. She doesn't really like cats but even took a few in and nursed them back to health after a fight with something. we wound up keeping them for another 10 years.

Sounds like us - we've had countless "visitors" pass through our doors, some who ended up staying permanently and others who were vetted, fixed and found good homes. My husband is convinced I have set out some sort of beacon that tells them all to come to our door.

I am the same. I love all animals. When we purchased our house we had 1 dog. Now we have 6 dogs and 6 cats. The cats were all strays that I found and nursed back to health. 2 dogs were street dogs and 1 was a pound dog scheduled to be euthanized. I think people need to take responsibility for their pets and actions. In a lot of ways pets are like children, only easier. If you can't take care of a pet you dang sure shouldn't have a kid. Statistics also show that most people who beat women and children started off abusing animals. It's a sad, sick world out there. I hope I am able to teach my children better.

On a different note. This is what those babies will look like in a month or so. This was taken when last week. You can see the 14 week old Chinese, the 9 week old Africans, and the 8 week old Chinese at breakfast.

My hubby says the same thing about me. He is threatening mayhem if I rescue and keep another dog/cat. He is ok with rescue and find a home, but not keeping. Lol. We just are overcrowded as is, so he is right.
