I would really like to take on backyard chickens!
I know that I would sell their eggs, but what else could I do to earn some money from them? I probably won't get chickens until spring of 2015, because there are not many breeds to choose from this time of year and I don't want to keep chickens...

You can look up ways to get bugs off your flock. Or you can go to someplace that sells mite, tick, and flea stuff for poultry. I hope you find the solution to your problem quickly.
Are you sure you have the time, money, and space to build a coop with a properly-sized run? You also need to feed the chickens and that cost can add up.

Well, the area is very nice, it has rolling hills, a narrow trail going on the hills, a great view of the Appalachian Mountains, and more.
