Thanks, chkn - I will tell her owner that. Anything that might make her feel more comfortable or help her is worth a try. We really want this little girl to pull through!!
Thanks for the response. Will pass that along to her owner, who she is home with, now.
Sorry about posting Rhode Island Red, I have no idea where that came from! She is indeed a Barred Plymouth Rock, and that was what I meant to post.
Thank you for that link. I don't think it's botulism, based on the symptoms.
Her face turning blue on both sides just happened today but other than that, she seems in very good spirits and eats and drinks.
Anyone know what is causing the blue on her face??
Thanks for the response - I spoke with her owner, who is on the way home, and her comb has always been pale.. they have only had these girls two weeks, and they are young, not laying yet. The other birds are all fine, and very active... I'm thinking if it was Marecks it would have spread and...
She has been on the intensive B therapy today.. hope that this will help. Appetite still good, and she's still drinking water, and otherwise very feisty.
Any advice would be very welcome.
Also, none of the other 5 birds seem ill or affected in the last 24 hours since she collapsed.

I just wanted to bump this up, and show everyone what a gorgeous little roo Loki is! We are all charmed by this sweet little guy - he is so calm, and follows you everywhere, and I only wish I had room for more, tulipdog!
Hi Kari.. wondering if you have any of the Norwegian Jaerhons left? My girls are 16 weeks old today... would he be okay with older girls? (This is my first flock, if you can't tell). I saw your post on the Bird Fancier list as well, and that they were sweet , easy going guys... with kids...
Just wanted to let everyone know that Mad Hatter seems to be doing a lot better. Two nights ago, she jumped and jumped, and couldn't reach the bottom roost. I ended up "cheating" and picked her up and set her up there, and she seemed so happy to be up there. Last night, I watched her pace...
No sneezing, wheezing, coughing or anything else. Her face is not swollen as far as I can tell.
She is on chick starter, Dumor from TSC, they free range and get occasional treats like yogurt and veggies.
