Looking for fairly young laying hens in jacksonville area. I only want 2 or 3 but would like a good variety to chose from if possible. Please call 90four-50five-678seven. Thanks! Shannon
What is up with these gals? Great legs but where are beards and muffs? Any other thoughts appreciated. They are about 6-7 weeks.
The following 2 are the same chick:
We had to move and I do NOT want to do without chickens! The ordanances are clear but i have a large backyard and will probably keep 2 of 9 chicks i have to get rid of. Fingers crossed their girls. Wish me luck! I have a lot to learn!
Nobody posted anything for last month but I went anyway. I'm sure it's still on, possibly just fewer bycers going but there was still a pretty good turn out. I'm going but just to buy
I'm in Keystone, have some room but not a ton...only 3 chickens currently, a big coop, a little coop and an enslosure we made for goats but don't have any anymore and there's no kind of shelter in it. PM me if I can help:)
I've had several types of LF chickens and they all have been able to jump into and out of a small opening into the coop 2 feet off the ground. Their roost is probably close to that high up as well, no ladders or anything...
Just wondering if anyone has 2 or 3 egg layers near Keystone area(just about any kind will do). I had to get rid of my chickens in January and have missed them everyday! I don't really want to wait until the end of the month! PM me if you can help me out...Thanks! Shannon
Absolutely! But don't turn your back for a second! I walked about 5 paces away with my back to my chicks and a hawk swooped down and took one...I was so horrified! Just be careful!
I have 4 d'uccles, 2 cockerals (lav/self blue and porcelain) and 2 pullets near POL (lav/self blue and porcelain) for 5 dollars each. I hatched them from eggs from a breeder. I am in Keystone Heights, FL...sorry no shipping.
I think I had my first coon issue last week. Took the head off my beautiful d'uccle...right through the wire! I had to move all my d'uccles to the big girls coop but keep them locked up so the big girls won't kill them too! Untill I get things more secure. Good luck to you!

I have the same model, the dividers that come with it work fine for the first 18 days. I tried using an egg carton once for lockdown but couldn't keep my humidity constant with it in. So, took the carton out and had a great hatch. The only thing is I usually have to have both water...
I have sand in my run but my coop is facing north and has a big overhang so most is shaded. You can find shade cloth at any Lowe's or Home Depot...about 30 bucks. I also put a hose in the run in a large square challow "tub" I have and they love to cool their feet in there. Just leave the hose...
