Quail are very territorial animals and you really can't interfere with their social structure so much without special care. They aren't smart enough to realize that they will not run out of food and water. In an animals mind territory is life and death. They believe they need all the space they...
I am fairly new to keeping quails. I just added 4 5 week old quails which i reared myself into enclosure with 2 1year old ones.
I kept them in the same enclosure but two separate large rabbit hatches . My husband let them all out and it was good for 2 days but today i noticed 3 young ones in the...
Hi,
This was lovely to read, really helpful!
I am new to it and managed to hatch only 6 jumbo quails, unfortunately 2 died straight after hatching so we were left with 4.
One had curled toes but i managed to put plaster on them and within a day it was walking around so next day i removed plaster...
I have two jersey giant babies, 2 weeks old, which are my very first ''incubator -hatched''
I always wanted them as they are so beautiful. I suspect i have 1 girl and 1 boy but time will show. Mine are black. I think black were the first, original JG breed.

Hi, Thanks! No, i haven't taken any pictures as yet. I will do it tomorrow .
It seem happy there, just running around all other eggs, squawking and creating chaos.
I think incubator is too hot & humid as this chick is still wet, 3 hours after hatching.
I may set up brooder in a minute, it will...

I have three 12 weeks old girls but they are already massive, beautiful ginger things.
When we cuddle they go to sleep in my arms, i just love these moments.
Thank you for your reply.
I phoned vet and had a chat.

I think i just keep an eye on this one, if necessary keep it separated so others will not hurt it.
Not sure if there...
