Nothing there at all. The scales look harder than they should be on his legs so I've worked paraffin into them in case of mites or any other nasties (plus the treatment)
I actually had considered slings.. but I'll look into that again.
It started on his left leg and still seems to be left more than right. Both legs more and toes will curl round my fingers. He won't flatten his left foot out to stand.. and just a bit more with right. First couple of days right...
I can't remember the actual name but I have a lice powder hopefully also coming tomorrow for him. I haven't actually seen eggs.. but I've physically seen the lice moving around. Since bath and ivermectin most seem dead but I still see moving ones.
He has no swelling, scabs or shows any pain or...
I have an about three year old salmon faverolle roo who.. about a week ago seemed to get quiet. Now he's not a mad crowing type. And will have days where he just isn't that noisy so this didn't really mean anything to me. But five days ago I found him sitting on the floor alone rather than on...
Well I just have some pygmy hedgehogs and reptiles which local kids found out about and blabbed. Nobody sees them and they're all secure indoors minding their own business lol. I just mean it's not surprising many people know as most people round here know through kids and gossip
I don't have a...
So and update... we found out who the complaint was coming from and now it gets very odd... they are not even on my street and at least 50 houses away. You can't even hear the rooster from there! I don't know them at all and have never spoken to them until yesterday.
Yesterday I got another...
I measured 80bd on his very loudest crow... right next to me... from just ten feet away it was less and from my back door (the closest house to him) it was more like 60-70db background noise was about 40-50s. .. but with other sounds louder than him. (Like one of the nicer neighbours motorcycle...
I think part of the reason I'm annoyed is that he crows a max of four times (about ten or so crows and it lasts maybe 3min tops) over a four hour period. Usually he only does it once or twice though... and at the same time there are people working on motorbikes, running machinery etc all of...
I thought that but I'm not entirely sure on who did it :/ just can't see how they can moan... a few houses down they have dogs barking non stop at all hours.. neighbors at the back using tools in the night... yet they have an issue with him
About a week ago, I received a letter from the Council notifying me that there had been a complaint about my rooster crowing. It didn't specify time of day but did hint with some choice words about "cockerels crowing at dawn" but they wont give me any specifics. I've had Napoleon for over a...
He's a young rooster and seems to be still getting new "grown up" feathers (if that makes sense? Getting his adult colours, hackle and long tail feathers coming through etc. I can't see anything on him and was planning to treat as a precaution but all the hen's are totally fine.. even the big...
My rooster, Napoleon, has been picking at the feathers on his foot recently and I've finally managed to catch him to take a look. He's moulting at the moment, but the skin on one leg is red raw down one side and theres a patch running up his thigh under the wing. And most of the feathers are...
Daft question but I was wondering if anyone has any clue on my roo..
He's about 18 months now (a salmon faverolle) and still a scruffy looking fellow though he's slowly moulting into his pretty feathers :p
His crowing however is weird... He's silent at night, silent all week (bar one lonely...
