random rooster crow query?

Daft question but I was wondering if anyone has any clue on my roo..

He's about 18 months now (a salmon faverolle) and still a scruffy looking fellow though he's slowly moulting into his pretty feathers

His crowing however is weird... He's silent at night, silent all week (bar one lonely crow at some yelling kids) then one day at the weekend, either Saturday or Sunday, he'll crow loads!! He'll start about 10-11am and have a session, then again and again until dark. I can't work it out lol... There's nothing different to set him off and how does he know it's the weekend? Any ideas? (doesn't bother me, I'm just curious)

No,but he probably just so happens to do it then at that time he feels besat.

He is probably hearing something you are not. A distance rooster crowing will make them crow. I have a neighbor who plays polka music every Sunday, and many churches are ringing bells, so it's probably something like that that sets him off.
