What colour are my Call ducks?

I'm wondering what colour I should call my Call ducks? I know that they are not particularly good examples of calls but they are only pets! I bought them as Apricots but the duck doesn't seem to fit that description? This is my other pair of Calls, bought these as dark silver?

    What colours are my muscovies

I have 4 muscovies 3 girls. 1 dude. They're now 12 weeks old and the friendliest little things - just like puppies. Anyway I'd like to know what colours they are for sure. I have no idea what the parents are like since I bought the eggs online.

Made a mistake during duck egg incubation - will they be okay?

So two weeks ago I set some Cayuga and magpie duck eggs in my incubator, this is my first time hatching ducks eggs. The temp and humidity have been steady, the mistake I've made is only turning the eggs twice a day! I'd been used to turning my chicken eggs twice a day and this seemed to work...

    Day old exchequer leghorns

Thanks everyone, I've read a couple articles that agree with you guys and some that say small head dots mean girls and a bigger patch on the head means a boy. But I'll take what you guys say on board and just have my fingers crossed that I only have 1 boy out of 6 according to the head dots...

    Day old exchequer leghorns

I know I'm being impatient but I've had 4 exchequers hatch this morning and I've noticed that one chick has a large head spot and the others have small dots instead. Is that an indication of their sex?

    Pekin bantam thread!

Thanks Teila! They're very sweet and a lot of fun but I don't think I will hatch so many lavenders next time, selling the cockerels is gunna be tricky :/ I've noticed that lavenders don't sell particularly well here. I got a porcelain Pekin trio at auction which are lovely, the cockerel is...

    Boy or girl?

Oh sorry! I was told these chicks would be sex linked so figured I should be able to tell at this age.

    Boy or girl?

This little guy is a lavender (dad) x cuckoo lavender (mum) Pekin (Cochin) bantam, is he a boy or girl? I'm thinking boy but I have three different patterns in my chicks, 4 all one colour which I'm pretty sure are girls, a couple look like this guy with the pale face but no head dot, a few with...

    Cuckoo lavender or just lavender?

Well I think that means I have at least 4 males out of 11 but will need to have a good look without the red heat lamp on. They are so sweet, I can't stop watching them! Thank you!

    Cuckoo lavender or just lavender?

I'm wondering if anyone could help me determined whether my Pekin (Cochin bantam) chicks are lavender or cuckoo lavender. Their parents are lavender cockerel over a lavender cuckoo hen. I tried the chicken calculator and from that it told me that the males would be cuckoo and the females plain...

Bronze Turkeys - male or female?

We lost two of them last night, one has definitely been had by a fox, other may still be around but with so much forest he could be anywhere! Thanks for everyone's help, much appreciated

Bronze Turkeys - male or female?

Well we have 1 acre of garden and another 1/2 of paddock that they have free access too most of the day- they seem to enjoy it. We do shut them in one of our stables at night but they try to roost in the lower branches of the trees outside the house. We live surrounded by pine forest and have...

Bronze Turkeys - male or female?

I completely agree with you. Pretty disappointed about no eggs but these turkeys were bought by my brothers gf on a whim as she had it in her head that she wanted to "save turkeys from being Christmas dinner" and since they didn't have space for them, we agreed to take them (she has since only...

    Cockerel or pullet?

Yes he/she is getting me so confused! We were convinced for a long time that it was a pullet from her behaviour and comb size/colour but more recently the shape and size have completely thrown that out the window. He was our first and only chick to hatch and thought we'd be so lucky but...

    Cockerel or pullet?

Quiet, very tentative at times but very friendly. I think she/he's bottom of the pecking order. She used to be very quick to come out and see what treats they were getting or to get out and forage but she seems and lot more wary of everything. Also yesterday when all the chickens were outside...

    Cockerel or pullet?

Sorry i meant to add more but phone was playing up! I haven't ever heard her crow or attempt to, the only cockerel she is housed with is her dad who does chase her sometimes (only seen him do it twice). Her behaviour has seemed to have changed - she's the last one out of the coop and...

    Cockerel or pullet?

I've posted this chicken before on here to see if she was a puller or not, got many people agreeing that's she's probably a pullet. But now a month on I'm pretty sure she is a he! He/she is 6 months old now. Let me know what you think! He/she is a black Orpington cockerel crossed with a...

MARCH Hatch-A-Long 2015: Please Read the First Post to JOIN the H-A-L

Hi everyone! This is my first hatch along and my second hatch with an incubator (first hatch was abysmal due to a bad incubator and an even worse hygrometer). With a new incubator hopefully this one will be more successful! Only 10 days to go now
