I have 5 EE's two are my largest girls, bigger than my SLW! but the other three are rather petite as someone else mentioned.... not as small as my silkies but petite. but they do lay me some really pretty mint green eggs and their eggs are a decent size, I guess thats what I am mostly after...
once these girls get going, they go! Getting at least 2 green eggs a day from my 5 EEs, they just started laying but not bad for 7degree Fahrenheit weather outside, they are 26 weeks in wednesday. ( brown eggs are my SLW)
:weee :clap
Look what I got for Christmas!! My first egg!! I can't beleive it was from one of my EEs, I have 5 SLW, I thought they would be first since EEs usually take longer... They are all 24 weeks last Tuesday.
Next to a store bought white egg so you can see the color
My EE Beatrice went red on her face overnight! Must be getting close to seeing some eggs soon! She's 22 weeks this last Tuesday... So eggcited!
My Shark is too but her comb is so slim, but it's red!
Nothing from Gertrude yet... She's showing no signs :(
Georgia's starting to blush too... :D
Ohhhh this is interesting... What will the outcome be?? I'm very curious sine these are two of the three breeds I own, keep us posted, I can't wait to see!! :drool
I know this post is very old, but what you are describing is exactly what I did with my girls, and I live in Reno, so we did the no heat except for evenings and let them acclimate to the winter (no heat) but now I am to where my girls should be laying... Mid November, they are 20 weeks now and I...
oh she looks like my pretty Gorgia, ohhh I hope she lays me pretty ones like that!!!
20 weeks and still looking for an egg... but from what Ive read here I may be waiting a long time. EE's take forever right?
