I realize this is done and over with now, but maybe I can offer useful info for next time.
It's a matter of geometry 43 on one end would've been fine but the other end had to be the complement of 90. It was a chicken coop so the angles would've worked just not been tight. If you want a 45...
My post was based on the title of this thread.
You can easily pay for the food.
The rest depends alot on how serious one wants to get, business or just as a hobby and raising for their own food
My opinion on the best way to keep varmints out is 1/2" x 1/2" hardware cloth, as this will also prevent larger snakes from getting in. I would just wrap it around what you already have.
Profit is whats left after you figure your material expenses and Labor, nobody is figuring labor onto it. Consider the time spent feeding, gathering eggs, building pens, candeling eggs, hatching, cleaning cages, and thats just some of the basics assuming all goes well. Now add that into the...

NO OFF THE CUFF GUESTIMATES PLEASE!
Coturnix Manchurian. How many lbs of food per day per bird are you getting?
I fed yesterday in the afternoon and same amount this afternoon and weighed it. Calculation comes to .0375 lbs per bird per day. Age range is 5-10 wks app.
Thanks!
We have coturnix and have mixed numerous times 3 batches 5 days apart with no problems. But we have not put them with older birds till they were 5 days old.
I am not disputing what is generally said about this nor am I highly experienced. Merely stating what we have done.
Have tried a couple things to salvage a cracked for th incubator but nothing has worked. So if its cracked we eat it. There's no way 4 quail eggs would satisfy me. For a meal I want two chicken eggs or 8-10 quail eggs. Ours are coturnix.
