Everything I've read has said this is how it works. I've hatched 5 chicks from my frizzle hen/straight roo, and not one single one has been frizzled. What gives?! Ugh! Anyone else have this happen?
But I couldn't help but take pics of the new chicks. My broody hen, Little While Chicken, hatched these 5 days ago, but these were taken on days 2 and 3. I wanted to practice making a set, so what better subject than baby chicks?! I just wanted to share with people that can appreciate these.
Is it a liquid? I believe I saw that at Tractor Supply. It's over an hour and a half away so I won't be able to get there until next week probably, but I will go pick some up. How much do you dilute it?
Thanks so much!
We lost the hen yesterday. We took their crate out to treat them for mites and when my boyfriend opened the door she bolted and ran into the woods. She didn't come back.
I'll pick a name for him when I don't feel so terrible about losing her. It's hard not to feel responsible...
I feel your pain. We lost our ducks and a lot of chickens to coyotes and a bobcat. We also get bear, fox, raccoons, etc. It's much different than NH that's for sure.
I will pick some of that up as soon as I can. Unfortunately there's no place local for me to buy it. I'll use Sevin on the new birds and get some of that stuff to use on my flock just in case. Thankfully the new ones are still in quarantine.
I'm thinking the mites in the house may be gone...
Thanks. :) I've already read that and several other sites. The thing is, I've washed down and vacuumed my living room furniture twice and put Sevin 5% under the cushions and I'm still finding mites. They get on my skin and I must be allergic because I turn red and itch. I really hope I can get...
I just got a few new birds and all of them have had one issue or another. The newest one is mites. The beautiful frizzle I bought was filthy so I gave him a bath and a blow dry today. All of a sudden I see tiny bugs crawling on my hands. My son had some on him too as he was helping. We...
