Check Craig's list. I found a contractor that builds them on the side. Because he gets a discount on his product, the price I paid was cheaper than building it myself.
Go on Facebook and look for the poetry clubs in your area(s). RI has the little Rhody poultry fanciers club. There are always people selling pullets and a few are professional poultry judges.
X2. Try looking on Craig's List also. Lots of people build coops on the side. Just adhere to the space requirements, at least 4sq' for each bird. Good luck!
Yes
Four square feet of housing per bird seems to be the rule of thumb not including nest boxes. If you go substantially below that rule of thumb you risk fighting for space issues. Also you should allow one foot of roost space per bird.
You can contact Allies tack and feed in north kingstown. Great family owned business I get my feed from them They aren't to far from Coventry. Another store is Summit General store in Coventry. Family owned also. Summit may be closer or farther than allies depending on what part of Coventry...
Hi
I don't think I would chance it due to the small bones. Post your question in the feeding watering your flick forum. I'm sure someone with more experience than I will chime in.
