To anyone meeting me at the swap.... I may be getting there a little late (possibly not until 10 or 10:30), because I have an early morning appt before I can head over (I'm about 1hr 20 min away). If you are interested in meeting me there for birds that I had listed in the post earlier, PM me...
I'm hoping to make it there on Sunday. We're downsizing and selling off most of our breeding flocks and chicks. Here's a list:
Breeding & Show Flock of Bantam Dominiques – (2 roosters & 3 hens) $20 for flock or free as a pass on flock to a 4H, FFA or youth poultry club member.
Breeding & Show...
Chantecler chickens were developed in the early 1900's by Brother Wilfred, a monk in Quebec who realized that Canada had no chicken breed of its own. He set out to develop a uniquely Canadian breed that would provide good eggs, meat, and could withstand harsh cold climates. Breeds that went into...
The American Dominique

Othala Acres
Heritage Poultry & Livestock

I'll be running the APA-ABA Youth Poultry Club table and will most likely be wearing an Othala Acres hat or sweatshirt. I'll have some blue (and one buff) Silkie cockerels in the sales area and I'm showing Dominiques, Bantam Dominiques and Buff & Blue Silkies.
I'm driving down Friday nite to coop in and drop the kids off at my brother's house, then heading back home for the night. Ron & I are coming back down Saturday morning after we feed and water the horses and rest of the poultry. See y'all then!
P.S. - come visit my table too... I'll have a...

I bathed a bunch of Dominiques and some Silkies today, and doing another 8 Silkies tomorrow! Every time I think I'm a glutton for punishment showing these Silkies... high maintenance little buggers when it comes to getting them ready to show!

They have to be post marked by today, you can still send it in
I hope my entry isn't too late. With the pre-Xmas craziness, I wasn't able to pop it in the mail til the 24th, and I think the post office had already closed for the day, so I think it's postmarked for the 27th!!

Good to hear they're easier to catch. I was always afraid of raccoons because they are so determined and can get into things so easily. But I guess it's better than something like a weasel or fisher, which I hear are REALLY hard to trap and to keep out of coops!
I just can't wait til...
