They were all incubated the same way but this one egg isnt doing anything. I have candled it since Day 21 to check and thought I saw signs of movement...

    The Wyandotte Thread

Thank you for the responses. I have heard that you can breed a silver to a gold and they autosex. Ie silver roo over gold hen produces silver pullets and gold cockrels. I didnt know if that rang true or not and also wanted to test that alongside the BLR x Silver cross. And that is interesting...

    The Wyandotte Thread

I have a breeding question. So first of all my Laycee who started off as a pullet then was believed to be a cockrel isofficially a pullet. As her adult feathers have become more established she is proving to be a female with a large comb. Anyways I am looking in to getting Blue Laced Reds and...

Well it has been ridiculously hot at the house and the second day we're gone it decides to have torrential downpour. I didnt factor that in before we left. It was set for just in case it rained but not for a flood. Where the coop is at there normally isnt water buildup but it rained so much it...

I know that it is my own fault that I have experienced such a terrible ordeal. I accept full blame for all of my chicken problems. And we will no longer do things on a whim like buy babies 2 weeks before we leave. We are definitely doing things differently from here on out.

There was a mix of 3 week olds and I had my recently hatched babies out there because they were adjusted to the others well. And Iput them out so I wouldnt have to give the sitter a house key . But like my husband said live and learn. I knew I shouldn'thave had them outside . But it was either...

Day 2 away from home and I lost another 10. This is the roughest time I think I have ever had. I am going to pull my hair out I'm so...

Yes I agree completely.@NTBugtraq I dont see any way to fix it I have tried flex it out and work with it but its just kinda stuck that way. He isnt letting it get him down though. We will see how he does. And I believe that he is the loudest chick I have ever encountered in my life. So if he...

First of all Thank you @AmyLynn2374 for recommending this thread. I have gotten a lot of great feed back about my little crippled chick. I dont plan on breeding him and he doesn't seem to be in pain he just has a balance problem. Other than that he is functioning properly. He was eating when i...

Yes I did experience some temp spike towards the end due to the temperature increase outside. We have been experiencing some serious heat here in NC. And I am fairly certain that influenced my temps. Thats why i feel its partly my fault he came out the way he did. And I feel I need to try...

He hatched out this way so I feel it waa partly my fault with my incubating process being my first time and using a homemade bator. Plus on topof it I got the eggs had to drive them 3 hours home and came to find that some had been brooded beforehand . So it was a mess to begin with. I got the...

He cant straighten it out and he "screams" when I try to pull it to attempt to twist it back where it should be. He tries his darnedest to get along with one foot but it is stressful. His other leg seems to be fine I think that this leg just wasnt positioned/ developing properly in the egg. (I...

    Newly hatched chick leg problem

Thank you I truly appreciate you taking the time and for the bump. I am at a loss with what to do she seems to be fine otherwise. She is moving around, chirping very loudly and even been encouraging to her little sister. Its the first out of 5 eggs that hasnt needed any help to hatch. My very...

    Newly hatched chick leg problem

So I went to bed with an internal pip last night and woke up to a complete zip. Was lucky enough to see the hatchling emerge. Now that she has dried off some and is hobbling around I took her out to see that her leg is very deformed. I dont want to cull her but I dont know how to fix the leg...
