    found this in the coop this morning. it was attached to a very soft egg. i have never seen anything like it before. it's very firm. none of my chickens appear to be ill. all are runny around happy as ever. thanks for looking. hope someone will be able to advise me on this.

    thanks for all the advice. i'll try giving them the scrambled eggs and i'm sure they'll love it. the chicks are outdoors during the day, running free range and are only in the cage at night and this is where i have it lined with newspaper. they just love to peck at it into shreds then eat it...
