Not sure if you can help with this question:
I have a group of “red” bantam Cochins. They are in their own pen and never intermingle. One of the hens I don’t think is red because of the chicks I get (pictured). What color would she be to get that color mix pictured? (Originally I had just...
I hatched Bielefelders and Welbars at the same time. I don’t know which one this is! She was in my “miscellaneous” flock so I couldn’t tell which color egg she was laying. I separated her recently to find out but now she’s molting and not laying. Which breed is she?
I have three gold laced Orpingtons. I am positive that the first couple pictured are the boys (but I’m not an expert on Orps). However one has a rounded tail and the other has a perkier tail. Both their hackle feathers are the same color (gold), unlike the females. Can you please confirm the...
She is supposed to be a Queen Silvia. Please confirm! Thank you!
(Please excuse the feed on the ground. When I went to open the bag it decided to split right open and waste 50lb of feed on the ground and not the bin. Joy.)
This is an easy one. Greenfire sent me this box. These two are Cochins. I figured that. Looking on their website it says Partridge. That fits. I’m positive one is a male and one is a female. Are these blue or black Partridge? If I’m wrong on any of this, please let me know. Sorry the pics aren’t...
Hi! Any thoughts on the breed of this rooster? I received him at the same time I received Greenfire chicks and a box from another person who had 55 Flowery Hen Chicks. He’s my only surviving male of the bunch that looks like this so do you think he is a 55 Flowery Hen or just a mix?
Thanks!
I received these breeds as chicks from Greenfire this past summer. Can you please help me verify their breeds (I have my thoughts on this from Greenfire pics but would like other opinions)
Thank you!
Are all these cockerels? They were hatched Aug 11 but their combs seem so big. One has definite reddening but I'm hoping not the others? Here they are:
BCM 1:
BCM 2 (I think cockerel):
BCM 3:
Thanks for your thoughts!
Placed several EE/OE eggs under one of my broody hens and this one popped out of one. The spot on its head isn't perfect (multiple little spots) so is it possible it is NOT sex-linked and this is just a random head spot? I feel like I can see the beginning of a comb already though...
i hatched these boys from My Pet Chicken but I had a LOT of varieties in the incubator. I know one or both could be a Blue Sex Link. They look similar but their combs and waddles are slightly different, plus one has ear muffs. Can you please tell me what breeds you think they are? Thanks!

We have two coops, a closed one and a free ranging one. A fox took down one of the free ranging chickens right outside the closed coop and it must have freaked them out bad. After I had gathered the remaining free-Rangers I saw that my 20 week Silkie pullet had her toe caught high up in the...
going through my coops and trying to come up with a plan. I am a newbie to chickens (started last year) so I lost track of what is what. I received a shipment of an assorted pick of eggs and these are what hatched. Interested in breed identification and gender ( I think two are cockerel , the...
