I have multiple roos and hens. I want eggs from a specific pair. Obviously I need to separate the two, but how long until I can be sure of the eggs coming from this pair?
Hope this isn't too obnoxious a question, but did I read somewhere that while you are gathering eggs to incubate you can store them in an automatic turner so you don't have to turn them by hand everyday?
Thank you. I usually let my hens do the work but a friend lent me an incubator and I...
It's cold here, will the eggs be viable? Should I stalk the chicken house and try to gather them immediately after laid? Or just be patient and wait for the weather to warm up?
I've got three broodies right now. I want to hatch eggs from one particular hen. How do I collect the eggs I want them to set? How long can I gather them? What temp should I store them?

Hi, I'm remuda. I'm mainly a horse person but with the kids all grown I have more time so I'm back into chickens. It's been a long while since I've had any more that a couple during the summer for pets. I just got 11 three week old Red Comets, waiting for my new (to me) chicken house to...
