Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!! Isn't it just my luck! I've been pretty sure about Goldie and in denial about Blacklee. We are only going to have a small flock, and having a rooster around scares me about chicken math. My 4 year old keeps crowing and trying to get them to imitate.

We picked up two hatchlings from a local chicken guy about a month ago. The gold one should be a Road Island red, the black one we have no idea. Blacklee has green feet that are starting to feather. And Goldie is twice the size, very ballsy and has a lot going on in the comb area. Thank you...

@Sally Sunshine Thank you! He is my number 2 chicken farmer in training. I kind of can't stop reading about chickens and hatching. I gave myself a crash course then found a nice backyard chicken guy on CL and jumped at the chance to get started. Adding a wet washcloth seems to have helped...

I just started yesterday so I don't have any outstanding info! I can't say how accurate the humidity is, but I think mine gives consistently high temps by 2-4 degrees. I have another thermometer in there and am averaging.

Hi hatchers! Day 2 of my very first hatching adventure! I can't believe I haven't touched them yet! They're in a DIY incubator and day 1 had a lot of temp flux and humidity at 16%! The environment in there changed so much with adding the eggs (6 amaraucanas, bought from a local backyarder)...
