    According the the genetic calculator you will get Black Mottled. Although it is not always right it is nomally close. the irregularities are due to unknown genetics hiding in the breeding pairs.

    Our Salmon Faverolles are very frienldly even as chicks. We have a bunch right now and they will walk up to your hand to see what is in it. The are relitively calm when being handled. but just like humans they all have thier own individual behaviors some like humand contact some don't.

    When you are ready to get them try ontariopoultryswap.net there are a number of people in southern ontario with them. I just got 19 Hatching eggs into the incubator on Sunday so we will see what hatches.

    I would normally agree untill 3 weeks ago. One of the D'Uccles we hatched last spring we thought was a pullet and put it in to the lemon breeding coop. It continued to develop and looked like a Pullet and acted like a pullet. We never got 10 eggs from that coop although there were 10 Pullets...

    We have the Rooster Jail beside the Faverolles sho they always try to get in with them. The Faverolles will have non on if. They just shake and the roo's fly off or the hens end up with a wet spot on the back. Eitherway it is not functioning. One more week till I see if I have a Lemon coming...

    I also feed Black Oil Sunflower Seeds. I have heard comments on the excellent feather quality afterwords from the judge. Some people will also feed calf manna to help them along. I have also heard that this is good to. Don't know for sure as I am just about to get it from the feed store...

    I candled last night and I have some D'Uccles on day 8 that are comming along. They are some more of the Lavendar improvement program as well as the lemon project which are all fertile. It will be good to see the results of the lemon project after 2 years.

    We let our Polish free range with our D'Uccles and Guinea Fowl. They have a covered run to keep most of the snow our in the winter. We have not lost a bird yet a the guineas raise the alarm at the drop of a hat.
