A friend of mine told me to use electrolights to help make a "pecked" hens feathers grow back fast before winter. I went to the local agway and asked them about electrolights and they looked at me light I had 5 heads.
Can anyone give me some advice. Where do I buy electrolights? Thank you...
A friend of mine just gave me four hens, Three of which i raised for the first four months of their Lives. I brought them home tonight and put them into the coop with three of my hens. I am unsure if is was the right thing to do. Has anyone else done this? There was some pecking, but none...
Also, i would take a warm wet cotton ball and a put it on the bird eye. Adventually, the bird would be able to open here eye. I used eye drops as well. I would put Vaseline on the eye after it was clean and open.
I had a young hen that this happened to. It was like the eyes were getting crusted over by the infection that she had. The bird ended up having infectious corzya. If your bird has this, it will smell awful around it's head.

I have three hens about 16 weeks old. They are living outside in their coop.
I noticed tonight that all three are shaking there heads! What is going on? I just don't know what to do. Is there any advice or ideas out there?
I have three 6-7 week old chicks and a 1 year old hen.
The hen is obviously already outside in her coop, but when should I move my chicks out with her? (I have been letting the chicks & hen mingle under my watch of course).
I believe my 5-6 week old chicks have gapeworm. I don't believe badly, but some of them have started to do the "yawn" thing and shake their heads like it is itching.
Does anyone have any experience with this. I am not sure what I should do. Any advice wo
