After being attacked by a Rhea several years ago, birds were not on the top of my favorite animal list. I had a bug control problem in my yard and a co-worker suggested instead of an ant eater, perhaps I should try chickens. Well, I have so many ants the chickens have lost interest in...
What's in the middle of your smoked cabbage? I'm always looking for a side dish to throw in the smoker. I just started smoking a year ago and I'm jealous.
We're in middle GA, near the AL line. It's been extremely hot and dry here since April. We'll I'll keep watering and hope for the best. It's my first year with pole beans. I normally do bush and I think I'll be putting those in the ground instead of trying the poles again. Thanks!!
Is anyone having problems with their pole beans this year? Mine are over 6 feet tall, blooms and bees everywhere and not the first bean? Someone told me it's because we've had too hot a summer already. I hate to keep wasting the water on them, but I'm hoping they produce.
We have a major problem with little black ants where I live. They have little mounds and at times in the summer it looks like the ground is moving we have so many. They usually seem to be attracked to water. That's why I bought chickens, to help with the problem. They bite, but don't leave...

If it had been a non-poisonous we probably wouldn't have lost so many. I think he was having fun just striking away in there until he settled down to eat. He would have killed more if I'd not found him when I did. He couldn't get back out once he got in, he was too fat with poults in him!!!!!!!!!!
We brought 12 turkey poults home that didn't seem like they were going to make it the first night. They had blood in their poo. Got them through that and about a week later lost one and I'm not sure why. Got two more poults from a different breeder and kept them seperated for a few days. First...
