So i have 2 smooth silkie hens and 2 sizzle hen. My rooster is a sizzle as well. I went to the coop the other day and had surprise chicks. I figured they quit laying due to the weather but they hid some. My question is of you can tell if the chicks will have the brittle poor feathering at just a...
I know this post is quite old but i am looking for all the help i can get. We had accidental chicks. (My hens hid eggs and i did not know where. This is 100% my fault for not looking harder) I have 2 smooth silkie girls and 2 frizzled girls. My roo is a frizzle. Now i have about 10 chicks that...
I have narrowed down the issue to wry neck, coccidiosis (sp?) Or mereks. Although i dont think that is what it was.

Hi Teila- Its on her chest. I never noticed it before. And i am almost positive i would have seen this when she was a chick. I think it just popped up in the past week or so. Very odd.
I noticed this on my Amaracauna hen today. There are two "claws" growing out of it. Anyone see this before? Is it an infection? should i pull it off? There does seem to be blood flowing to it. Should i be concerned?
My two babies. I do have some questions. I am new to the breed and have noticed some odd behavior. I believe both are female. Theu are about 4 months old and the one with the darker beak always approaches me nodding and quaking. When she gets close enough to me she will lay her head and body...
