Since my post I worked on several different types of fodder setups. I finally pinned it down to one and those Black Oil Sunflower Seeds worked great!! They sprout and form a really good matte after about 8 days in rotation.

You can feed your chickens just about any kitchen scraps. They may not go for it, but if they don't, it just composts and helps the soil out.

The location is Loranger, LA 70448. I will be moving to that location in about a month or so.

Does anyone know of a USDA approved facility that will process your meat birds for you in or round Tangipahoah Parish? Or anywhere in Louisiana will do? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, Burger Bob
