I figured it would I started giving them cracked corn tonight before I put them in the coop. Ok what I will do is get a red nightlight because I know the red light sooths them tomorrow and cut it starting tomorrow night .. I feared keeping it on then god forbid I loose power in a snow storm when...
So I've got eleven 8 week old chickens and two 7 weeks olds they have been in the coop for about two weeks now I use a red heat lamp at night and they seem fine I let them out all day it gets to about 40's - 60's during the day and they seem good but I wanna cut the heat lamp off at night and...
So our chickens are 6-7 weeks old and I was wondering are they to young to feed a pumpkin to? I feed them treats with grit also Wheat Grass and they seem fine... but I know the pumpkins have the seeds didn't know if they are to small for that
Yeah it's cool but a pain lol a friend of mine started me with the sunflower sprouts so I gave it a shot lol though cleaning off the seeds from the heads are time consuming haha the wheatgrass is easier but the sunflower seeds are way cheaper lol
Nice !!! I have started giving them sunflower sprouts and I am going to give them wheat grass sprouts as well I'll probably do grit and also corn scratch at night since we have cold weather here
I went with the Purina as it has good reviews and I won't have to supplement calcium which is nice lol the Nutrena is awesome as well too .. I liked the dumor but they never had the grower finisher so I moved on haha
Ok so I decided to go with Purina after all switching to start and grow non medicated then right to layena plus omega 3 which has its calcium so I don't have to feed oyster shells
So I've got 3 and 4 week old chicks and I've grown sunflower sprouts to test out a theory ... I don't wanna get rid of the sprouts can I feed them to chickens this young?
These are all great ideas ! I am
Up North and I believe I'm also gonna add corn scratch to the feed to help keep their body temps up for New England winters as well ... I have heard about the oyster shells I will check into that as well
Ok so I've got some 4 week old chicks that I feed Dumor to them but I'm tossing up the idea of switching to Nutrena nature wise layer feed when they get to adult .. What's your opinion ?
Ok no worries i'll let you know ! They won't be in the coop for another 3 weeks but I'm gonna give it a shot and see how it works .. I'm lazy and like things already mixed lol so if I could do it easier I will haha
