I have roughly 50 A&M quail. They range from 2.5 weeks to 3 months. I've noticed that they all seem far more aggressive than any of my other, non-A&M quail. Has anyone experienced this?
Here's a new one. It looks like a Pharoah but instead of the usual browns, cinnamon, and creams, it's black, gray, and white. Anyou ideas? I have 3 of them.
I need your help. I've heard that to sell coturnix quail and their eggs, I have to have my flock PT tested. Is this correct? How do I go about doing that?
I'm going to hit Tractor Supply on my way home. I have some empty totes I can use, just need feeders and waterers for them. I've also heard Blu-Kote works well to help it heal and protect the wound?
Do you have an issue with him not being able to cover all the hens and fertilize the eggs?
It sucks! I'm just hoping it's not 1 of the 3 that we consider lifers. Both of my boys have picked out and named one, and then I have a favorite. Of course, the ******* white one is the oldest's favorite...
I need some help. I have 30 coturnix quail, 5 males to 25 females. They range from 8 weeks to 9.5 weeks. Yesterday I came home from a baby shower to find one of my males missing all the skin from the top of his head. I went out this afternoon to check on him and the others, and found one of my...
What do you all use for feeders for your birds? I bought one of the Mason jar feeders at Tractor Supply and they've completely spilled it out in a matter of an hour. How can I feed them without all the waste?
Hey all. After tweaking and new thermometers, I finally got my incubator temps stable. I have 20 quail eggs that are on day 12, 17 on day 8, and 24 on day 4. I didn't intend on having so many eggs with different hatch dates, but I got the first batch while waiting for the second to arrive. They...
No, they weren't marked as fertile. I looked for some, but they didn't have any. Shopping with an overtired 4 year old and a newborn doesn't lend itself well to going to multiple stores to look for them. I figured, what the heck, for a few bucks, it's worth a shot.
Interesting (and kind of gross)! Okay, so neither of these eggs look fertile then. That kinda sucks but good to know. Hopefully something comes of it:) Thank you!
I saw this post last night and had to give it a try. I set 10 brown eggs from Jeremiah Cunningham soy-free eggs that I purchased from Whole Foods today. I cracked 2 open to check for fertility. I'm almost certain one had an embryo already growing. What do you guys think?
Okay guys. I'm getting ready to set some eggs. My incubator temps fluctuate between 98.7 and 100.8, but don't stay at either long. Think this will be okay? I've got a closed container of water in there with the hopes that it'd stabilize them.
