How many degrees will I need to turn my eggs? A quarter turn each time? I could put 4 numbers on the eggs and always turn clockwise. Also would it be OK if I turn the eggs at 8:30am, 3:30pm and 8:30pm every day?
Thanks
What size drinker and what type of feeder do you guys recommended? I want to be able to use it when they get older as well (8 weeks). I'm starting them off in a 1.5 meter by 800 cm plywood rectangle and then when they get 3-4 weeks old I'll move them to a much bigger place. I want both the...
I'm thinking of buying the bigger size (16 hole). But I found out it only held 450 grams. Keeping in mind I'm not sure they will reach the stuff in the bottom, will this feeder last 9 hours without needing a refill?
Thanks for replying.
I have been looking for feeders and drinkers online and found these two in a set. I was wondering if they would be good for day old chicks. I'm planning on using wood shavings as bedding so could anyone tell me if it would get into these? Would they be able to eat and drink out of them easily...
Hi, I'm wondering how much chick starter feeder I will need to buy for the chicks first 8 weeks. It comes in 10kg and 25kg bags.
Which one will I need to get if I have 3 chicks?
Which one will I need if I have 6 chicks?
Thanks.
Hi, I've made a reasonable size brooder for 6 chicks (I'll give measurements when I can) and I've got an infared heat lamp for it. I plan on introducing a perch at 1 week old and putting it right down one end (So it doesn't take a lot of room) and the food and water down the other. Where should...
I am planning to put 8 eggs in the incubator, I hope 6-7. The chick crumble I'm going to get is 55 pounds, would this be enough to last them their 5,6 or 7 weeks until I switch to grower?
If so would it be enough for 2 batches, (27.5 pounds each batch of 6-7 chicks)?
Thanks, HokiFarmer
Would a chick starter crumble that is 19% in protein be OK for my chicks if I give them extra protein such as boiled eggs.
Any other suggestions for protein and how much to feed them extra protein.

I have been noticing that my 4 adult chickens will sneak inside and eat the cat biscuits. I decided to do a test, I filled a container with 3/4 layers pellets and the other 1/4 with cat biscuits I chucked them on the ground in front of the chickens and after testing the two they all went for the...
