I was devasted just now to find only my drake's 2 legs and feet remaining in their pen. I believe it was a fox. (I had 2 Mallard ducks). I would like to place the female in with my chicken flock of 7 hens. There is plenty of space. Do I need to separate them for a week as when introducing a...
Hello, I have 2 ducks and a drake who have lived happily together for 3 years. A couple of days ago I noticed the little mallard drake was pecking at and bullying my larger golden cascade duck. She seems well except her wings are twitching. She was always very assertive but now is submissive and...
Well, yes, my first eggs were green but I have no idea which, out of my 11 pullets, laid them. I will go with my barred rock...now renamed olive egger. 😁
My old hen has been giving me beige eggs for the past 2 years. Out of my 11 pullets, the green eggs are the first I've got from any of them. They were 23 weeks old on Wednesday.
Yes. Blurred chicken is a Dominique. I have 2 identical with rose Combs. Maybe my barred rock is an olive egger. I didn't:know they came speckled. I bought some specific breeds however 6 were a rainbow mix from Meyer Hatchery.
The beige older hen is next to the white one. The beige one on the right with black neck feathers and feathery feet, I thought she was a buff Brahma, but I could be wrong.
I have 12 chickens. 11 of them are 23 weeks old and one has started laying small green eggs every couple of days. I believed my breeds to be

3 x lavender orpingtons
Buff Brahma
2 x Dominique's
1 barred rock
1 white leghorn
1 polish
1 Rhode island red
1 beige chicken who has been...
Update: put all 3 hens in the the pullets this morning. The pullets are hiding in the coop. Every time they go out to the run they get chased or pecked, however no blood. No chicken pinned down. I feel bad my 11 pullets have to go through this hell for what? a week? Hoping they settle soon. It's...
I have 3 older hens. One is a bully. I put the other 2 in with my 11x 18 week old pullets this afternoon and although there is a bit of pecking and chasing they seem to be getting along fine.
So I put things everywhere in the coop for hiding spots and took the plunge and put 2 of my 3 hens in with the pullets. The hens are pecking and chasing but not constantly. The only chest bump was with Polly. The smallest Polish pullet! Go Polly! I think they will be ok. How long do they usually...
This shows the coop where I shut the 11 pullets in at night. They have a tunnel that connects the coop and run that I block off. The run and finally my 3 hens/pullets.
