I've had her a week. She was making that sound when we first got her. We got her from a guy that buys alot at a time from a hatchery. I have a video and a picture but not sure how to upload it to this site.
Hello everyone! I'm not experienced with chickens so I need your help. We just bought 4 new girls and one of them is making a crackling noise and staying to herself. She has diarrhea with chunks bloody stuff in it. She still eats and drinks but seems lethargic. I've been using VetRX because...
I gave it to them yesterday and so far I haven't noticed any watery poop. Like I said earlier, it has cooled off a lot so that could be helping too. Thanks for the recipe. I plan to give it to them regularly.
Yes, it has been hot. It has cooled off the last few days though, but still gets pretty warm by afternoon. The recipe seems to be for 1 chicken, right? I have 6 so I should probably feed it to all of them. Do I need to feed each one separately? Sounds like a lot of trouble.

I'm a newbie, only been raising chickens about 2 years. We have a little dominique that we've had about a year and I'm pretty sure that she's not laying. Any ideas as to why?
Thank you to Teila, redsox, drumstick diva, and NFC for the wonderful welcome. I enjoy learning as much as I can about our sweet girls and how to keep them healthy. Thanks again for your help!
Thank you, Tella. She's pretty skiddish and hard to catch, but we will surely check for external parasites. They get about 5 hours to free range during the winter and we have a dusting box in the coop for them to use. We just need to catch her and take a closer look at her. Plus, we're not...
We have a small Dominique that's about 1 1/2 years old. I don't think she has ever laid an egg. Several months ago she started looking sickly, and we noticed that her tail feathers were always wet with feces. My husband picked her up and we noticed that the opening to her vent was all crusted...
