Hello
I have a hen that will not go into the coop at night. She has been sleeping outside in the pen for about 3 weeks. My pen is secure and she is safe from predators but I am worried with the cold weather coming. Any suggestions to get her to reintegrate with the flock in the coop?
thank you...
Hello all
I sell my eggs for $3.00/ dozen $4.50 for 18. People save cartons for me and I recycle them. I date the cartons as to when the eggs are laid. I will only use paper cartons as I feel that plastic or syrofoam will leach into the eggs. My chickens are pastured.
I live in Ontario Canada and this past week end it went to -25 and my chickens managed just fine. My coops are not insulated nor heated. I figure all the other birds that live outside manage in this cold so chicken can too. I do give my girls cracked corn to help raise body temp
Thanks you all for your input. The posted thread was very helpful. I have 12 plymouth barred rocks and two black sex links. The sex links honk the most.

Hello all I have 12 week old chickens that have gone from squeeking chirping sounds to occasional honking sounds almost like the sound of a duck. Could this be some kind of respiratory thing going on?
They are very healthy otherwise playing and eating well.
thanks for any help offered

Hello I have chicks that are around 10 weeks old. Does anyone have any tricks to get these critters back in the coop at night. So far it has been a side show, me chasing them around catching one at a time and putting them in the door. Any suggestions?
thanks

I had the sam problem with my chickens. They kept picking my rooster and pulling out his feathers to the point of bleeding and this was during the winter. I ended up having to put duct tape all over him to protect from cold and the chickens pecking. I also tried "Stop Pick" which did not help...
Wondering if anyone has any suggestions. My hens have been pulling out my roosters tail feathers and picking him to the point of drawing blood. I am using StopPic and duct tape but they still are going after him. Poor fellow!
I am thinking of putting Lenny in a cage in the coop so that they...
I have 9 Roade Island reds and they are still laying 7-8 eggs a day. I been stepping up their food intake making them hot cereals daily in attempts to keep them warm:)
