It looks familiar because you've seen it on another thread where I was asking for suggestions on how to get my birds to roost.
I've tried moving it a bit more off the wall, I've tried turning it on an angle, I even moved it to the middle of the floor , nothing worked! As suggested I even tried...
Thank you!
We didn't cover the roof of the run to give the chickens some sun, since they already have under the coop that's covered, we were thinking of putting a tar cover on the roof of the run to keep it dry during the cold weather
All 4 fit and they seem to like it, but they still sleep on...
Thank you!
Thanks for your info and Tips!
They are open and only covered with 1/2" hard cloth, and we have vents on front and back wall and on top of the roof...I hope it's enough
Thanks! I just had to have arched doors!
The water I was going to try what you posted above with the submersible heater
I have 4 birds
Is this what you mean by eaves ventilation?
@aart you asked to see the inside...this is what it looks like, we still need to put molding around the windows
The side walls are identical (those windows do not open), front and back walls are identical other than the doors (one has screen door, and the the other has a small chicken door)
Hello everyone
This will be my first winter with chickens and I'm so nervous!!
I can only hope that the coop we built is good enough for Michigan's weather, even if it won't be heated, but there is still so much more I haven't figured out yet
1 How do I keep water from freezing?
2 How do I...
My Buff O. spent some "practice" time inside two of the 3 nesting boxes this past few days, I thought for sure that's where I was gonna find the first egg, instead she dropped it right in front of the entrance door! I took the golf balls out of the boxes, thought maybe that was the problem, now...
3 of them are pretty lay back they usually only follow! My buff O. she's the instigator, always looking for something new to explore and destroy!
The coop is attached to the run, they have shade under the coop!
I put cardboard in the coop for them to shred, that should keep them busy for a...
oh I know without a doubt that they do it out of boredom, in fact I had posted to get ideas on how to entertain chickens!
About the drinking cups, they only unscrew the red part, not the threaded part. I'm thinking of superglue it in place, but I'm not sure if it's safe?
When I first introduced my 4 pullets to the new water dispenser, they had such a hard time figuring out how to work the drinking cups, but recently, they actually started "playing" with it!
They peck and grab until they either overflow or unscrew the cups and flood the floor!
I worry that...
I'm in MI too! :)
We are just finishing our 8x10 coop, we put windows on all 4 walls! Two on front and back walls, open, and the other 2 are just for light, the chicken love to sit and look outside.
We also put in a screen door for extra ventilation during the hot Summer.
I'm far from being an...
Good morning!
I've been waiting for the weekend to try and finish the coop, aaaand of course it's raining!
Lol...what was I thinking!
Have a great day, all!
