Tips on how to inject Tylan 50 into 3-4 week old chicks?

@Eggcessive Well tonight she definitely got at least .25ml. I'll reduce it tomorrow. Do I have to treat all 4 chicks even though this is the only one showing signs of illness?

Tips on how to inject Tylan 50 into 3-4 week old chicks?

So @Eggcessive - I can just give it drops in the mouth as if I'm giving it a direct dose of Nutridench and it'll swallow it like that? What you stated is exactly why I didn't want to inject it. She's a tiny thing. I thought about doing it subcutaneously at the neck but heard that you have to...

Tips on how to inject Tylan 50 into 3-4 week old chicks?

The chick is 2.96 ounces. The syringe holds up to 3ml. It's the smallest that TSC had, but being that the chick is so small, I don't feel confident that I'd be able to get the meds into her crop. The needles are 20 gauge.

Tips on how to inject Tylan 50 into 3-4 week old chicks?

No idea yet. I've YouTube'd how to inject, I've read how to give orally. Seems the syringe would be far too large (it's a small one) to administer orally and do it accurately. I did buy 20 gauge needles just in case, but I'd rather not have to inject it. The link to the previous thread was...

Tips on injecting Tylan 50 into 3-4 week old chicks?

Seems I might have a contagious respiratory illness going on with one of my chicks. I've gotten a lot of help from a local woman about how to treat, but I'm scared poopless about injecting anything into my chicks. I'm also not sure what size needle I should be using, either. So here are my...

VIDEO: Is this coughing or sneezing, and what do I do?

@snow5164 I have a bag of medicated feed that I plan on starting after I'm done with the Corid on Friday. But do you mean a cup of the medicated feed when you say a cup of seed? Sorry - I'm a newbie and I'm confused! lol!

VIDEO: Is this coughing or sneezing, and what do I do?

Hi and thanks for the reply! How does one go about fermenting chick feed?? Also, do I wet it for ALL chicks or do I have to separate the one and feed it the wet feed? And yes, it's completely like powder and it's ALL OVER the room they're being kept in. The chick feed is unmedicated, but I...

VIDEO: Is this coughing or sneezing, and what do I do?

Hi @azygous and thanks for the reply... the only person that replied to me the first time I posted about the chick being sick said to do Corid, even after watching the video. So I did - and oddly, she seems much better. Not sure though how to make the bedding less dusty. I actually think it's...

VIDEO: Is this coughing or sneezing, and what do I do?

I've got one 3wk old chick who is sick. She was MUCH worse, with very labored breathing and constant coughing, neck stretching and chirping with no voice, but I started them on Corid this past Saturday morning and she's much better, VERY active as well as eating & drinking fine, but still has a...

VIDEO: Chick in trouble. Heavy breathing, white liquid poop, chirps but no sound... HELP!

I had ACV in the water for them - would that suffice instead of yogurt? I ran out this morning and got the Corid powder and they're already started on it. I'm praying it does the trick for this little one! Thank you so much @Eggcessive

VIDEO: Chick in trouble. Heavy breathing, white liquid poop, chirps but no sound... HELP!

Well, I've given Nutridench, electrolytes, and checked her crop - which seems normal. She's actively eating and drinking without my prompting at all, and she seems quite active - but it's like she has a cough now, and she's slightly worse than she was in the video. I feel like I've done all I...

VIDEO: Chick in trouble. Heavy breathing, white liquid poop, chirps but no sound... HELP!

I've given Nutridench, electrolytes, and checked her crop which was totally fine. She's actively eating and drinking, but still acting this way (just a little worse now). It's like she's coughing now. She also seems to have stopped growing, because where she was the same size as the others her...

Thank you so much! And a quick question - if her crop is big and hard (it's not), what would you do in that instance?

VIDEO: Chick in trouble. Heavy breathing, white liquid poop, chirps but no sound... HELP!

One of my 3 week old chicks seemed totally fine this morning but now seems to be struggling. Please watch the video and tell me if you know what could be wrong. I noticed while filming that she pooped a white, watery/frothy poop that I've never seen before (she does it in the video while up on...

Mama Heating Pad in the Brooder (Picture Heavy) - UPDATE

Thank you so so much! That's what I figured, but being that the two new ones are almost 2 weeks younger than my oldest, I was worried that they needed to be under there. They are nestled in the middle of the rest of the brood so I'm guessing they are nice and toasty. I did notice that the three...
