How to caponize a rooster Warning Graphic pics

That would totally depend on the age and maturity of the bird. 3 months old they may be a fava bean size where at 6 mo. a kidney bean size. I have tried many ages and found that the recomended 6-8 weeks is far too young as they are not developed enough to see at all.

You go for it! Everyone needs to know what the ground rules are. The state told me(Florida) that this used to be a hatchery problem but they have all instituted the all in all out policy and they also vacinate for everything. Many of those vacines are not even available for the general...

Does Ivermectin given orally kill scaly leg mites?

;)The Ivermectin will take care off all the internal worms and body mites however on a regular basis I 7dust for those red mites and WD40 the legs for the scaley mites. I don't think Ivermectin will get to those. They need to be suffocated and any oil works. The WD 40 is just handy and I can...

what do I soak my processed bird in?

After brineing overnight you also want to allow the meat to rest. That is let it sit in the fridge for 2-4 days. For different brineing recipies go online with Brine for fresh processed chicken.

I researches recipies before processing my first birds and ended up doing what I do every year with Thanksgiving Turkey. I brine in water overnight with just about a 1/4 cup of salt and acouple cups of orange juice. I have processed many Coturnex quail this way also.
