:cafWell, as this is my first incubation of call ducks... I’ve read they may hatch as early as 26 days or they may come on day 28. I think these eggs are leaning towards 28. 2 of them appear to have positioned themselves with bills at the air cells but no internal pips, all 8 still have live...

    Amprolium - Bad for Ducklings?

I just purchased: Brown's Encore Natural Chick Starter Baby Chicken Feed, 7-lb bag https://app.chewy.com/bbPsklFgrM I thought it was non-medicated. After reading the packaging thoroughly, it has Amprolium added. I am hatching ducklings this weekend and need a starter crumble without medication...

I had one of my duck eggs have an unusual dark spot that I can no longer see but I'm thinking the possibility of it being a vein or blood spot that was being absorbed or changing somehow, being part of the development process.

Anyone know what this is? Developing Duck Egg

I have never seen this type of spot in an incubated egg before. Doesn’t look good to me! The embryo is still moving and alive for now. I don’t know what to expect though. Anyone able to offer their advice or make suggestions? Thanks in advance!

I’ve read many things that make me hopeful regarding keeping the ducks and chicks together. No personal experience yet but it seems very reasonable to me. I will only be keeping a small flock as I live within the city limits of a major city. I have some ordinances that I must adhere to.

That’s my hope! First time with ducks so fingers crossed! Love bantam Cochins to pieces, my all time favorite. I am certain to fall for these little ducklings, just hope that we get a few through the hatch successfully. May need some wisdom and guidance along the way.
