Anyone else on here hang something over where the birds roost to help
Keep them warm? I've seen one online that they called a roost hood. Not a heat source but more like added insulation. I'm curious what your experiences are with something like that if you have. Wondering f it's a good idea...
Hi everyone, So I was able to install one more short n long vent on the run side of the coop. Had an interesting experience. I propped open the coop door for the girls to wander out and about. Just one really wanted out. She's very friendly. I was calling her back to the coop to show her...
Thank you. That's good
Insight. I do have some styrofoam boards I was thinking of covering and adding to roof... And will vent that spot
Mentioned for sure. And check out sauna vents.
Thank you for your input. That's a good idea! I'll try to snap some photos tomorrow. :) Yeah I never thought of it getting buried. Yikes. Well if I make the vent right on the inside of the run I'll have a way to almost get in there haha. I've added a wind/snow block to the other side of their...

Oh bummer. Do you do anything for it? I might try to use coconut oil tonight if i get a chance on one of my hens that got it too. Or maybe all? I'm still not sure if I think it's necessary. There's so much info out there...

Photo from when we got them. We know very little about chickens and I've been reading a lot online. We are now in subzero temps and I read so much my head is spinning. I cannot figure out if our...
Thank you. I too read that. I went out yesterday to try and apply Vaseline to the comb that was kind of yellow. It froze on my gloves and was really
Hard to manipulate. I tried to apply as gently as I could. Today it looks the same maybe a little better not hanging to the side as much and...
We added a vent on two sides of the coop about 2x4" covered with hardware cloth at the very top corner of the roof. h. Also drilled a line of holes along the top of those same
Sides. Put a few more holes above nesting boxes but the roof leaves openings as well so didn't want to have too much...
